In the wake of Coronavirus crisis, Shah Rukh Khan contributes 25,000 PPE kits to medical workers across Maharashtra

The world is currently battling deadly Coronavirus. Declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the novel COVID-19 has disrupted lives all across the world. While India also fights against the virus, the demand for essential commodities including the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kit for healthcare workers has shot up high. With a massive rise in the number of positive cases, especially in Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is racing ahead to multiple the production of PPE. Considering the efforts taken by the authorities to keep the city safe from Coronavirus and erase its spread, Shah Rukh Khan, yesterday, contributed 25,000 PPE kits to medical teams working across Maharashtra. 

Rajesh Tope, Minister of Public Health and Welfare, Government of Maharashtra, on his official Twitter account, confirmed Shah Rukh's contribution through his organisation-Meer Foundation. "Many thanks Mr. Shah Rukh Khan for your kind contribution of 25,000 PPE kits. This will go a long way in supporting our fight against COVID19 & protecting our frontline medical care team," Rajesh wrote on Twitter. Shah Rukh acknowledged his tweet and responded humbly by assuring that the whole of Maharashtra and world is together in this fight against Coronavirus. "Thank you sir for all your help to source the kits. We are all together in this endeavour to protect ourselves and humanity. Glad to be of service. May your family & team be safe and healthy," Shah Rukh wrote in response.

Amid the Coronavirus crisis, Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri Khan allocated their 4-storey personal office space to help Maharashtra Government expand their quarantine capacity and also equipped the space with all necessary facilities for children, women and elderly who are in quarantine. 

Apart from this, the superstar announced several initiatives towards Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi's PM-CARES Fund along with Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund with his companies including Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation and Red Chillies VFX.
