Homi Ajania's Angrezi Medium, starring Irrfan, Radhika Madan, and Kareena Kapoor Khan, which released on March 13, 2020, was taken down due to the COVID-19 pandemic and shutting down of all the theatres. Now, the film is making a comeback on the newly launched Disney Plus on Hotstar VIP.
Irrfan took to Twitter to announce the release of the film on the streaming platform. Angrezi Medium had released on March 13 as the coronavirus outbreak began making its presence felt in India. The film registered an opening of Rs 4.03 crore. It wrapped up at just Rs 9.36 crore as movie theatres pulled down their shutters ahead of a countrywide lockdown announced on March 24, 2020.
