After 'Marjaavaan', Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria team up for Bhushan Kumar-produced 'Masakali 2.0'

It won't be wrong to say AR Rahman is a musical gem. Be it peppy or melodious, he knows the trick to wow his listeners. While the ace music personality has a number of masterpieces to his merit, Masakali from Sonam Kapoor Ahuja's and Abhishek Bachchan's Delhi-6 remains to be iconic and fresh in the minds of the audience to date. Now, 11 years later, the song is all set to get a modern-day punch. Well, yes. Producer Bhushan Kumar under his banner T-Series is gearing up to present Masakali 2.0 to the young audience. Bhushan, during an interview with a leading daily, told that Sidharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria will star in the music video recreated by Tanishk Bagchi. The ace producer added that the actors who were last seen in Marjaavaan together infused life into the song. Masakali 2.0 has vocals of Tulsi Kumar and Sachet Tandon. It is directed by Adil Shaikh.

"AR Rahman created a musical gem in ‘Masakali’ which has been a personal favourite for years. The song is still a rage among youngsters, so I thought it might be a good idea to present it in a new fashion. We got Sidharth and Tara for the song as they look good together on screen and they infused life into the chart," Bhushan told.

Sidharth, who is yet again teaming up with Bhushan after a number of film associations, said that Masakali 2.0 is relevant to the current times when people are confined to their homes. He further added that the song will revolve around two people cooped indoors. “We have unintentionally made a song revolving around two people cooped up indoors and still doing a lot of masti,” Sidharth added.

Tara added that Masakali is a catchy number and Bhushan-Tanishk have reimagined the modern edition of the song beautifully. “It’s such a catchy song despite being a midtempo tune. Bhushanji and Tanishk have reimagined the 2.0 version beautifully while Tulsi and Sachet have given it a fun, sexy spin, which I love,” Tara gushed.
