The entire country went into hyperactive mode when Bollywood singer Kanika Kapoor was tested positive for COCID-19, the disease caused by the novel and deadly Coronavirus. Enraged citizens trolled Kanika for her negligence as she attended a few parties after coming from London and did not go under self-quarantine as was asked by the government. Now, Sonam Kapoor has extended her support to Kanika to defend her. However, her tweet did not go down too well with the netizens who left no time in trolling her.
In Kanika’s defence, Sonam had tweeted, “Hey, guys @TheKanikakapoor came back on the 9th. India was not self isolating but playing Holi." Check out her tweet below:
Twitterati just could not digest Sonam’s tweet and tried to educate her that the government has been issuing warnings and screening arrivals from other countries since January. They even told her that the Government had cancelled Holi Milan progammes and asked citizens to refrain from playing Holi and take necessary precautions amid the coronavirus outbreak. Kanika is under treatment in Lucknow and has put a lot of people including high profile politicians under the scanner for COVID-19. Legal cases have been filed against the singer for her negligence and flouting government guidelines and putting others' lives in danger.
