False allegations, made up stories: Shekhar Kapur lashes out at ex-wife Suchitra Krishnamoorthi's for filing a property case against him

Following reports in the media about actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi filing a property case against her ex-husband and filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, the former couple's daughter Kaveri Kapur recently issued a statement over the matter saying she has nothing to do with the case. Kaveri's name came up when, according to a portal, a friend of Suchitra informed that the actress was trying to get back property that rightly belongs to her daughter but was being used by the actor Kabir Bedi. The report suggested Suchitra now wanted justice for her daughter.

Kaveri said in a statement, "I would like to set the record straight, I have a very strong and loving relationship with my father, Mr Shekhar Kapur. I am disappointed that my name was dragged in this manner. As a 19-years-old I know I can speak for myself.I have nothing to do with this case or any case between my parents." Now the same portal has apologised to Shekhar and Kabir and wrote, "since we went ahead with just Suchitra’s version, we apologise for the inconvenience caused and have deleted the story in question."

Finally, Shekhar, who has been keeping mum on the entire fiasco, retweeted the apology and replied, "False allegations. Made up stories. Please read the apology for publishing and spreading ‘facts’ without ‘fact checking’ on an ex wife’s reported story."

Kabir too shared the same and tweeted, "The source of an untruthful story about me has retracted it and apologised. But it continues to be spread by other media, which is enormously damaging. To those who value journalistic integrity, kindly set the record straight by amending or deleting it Folded hands."

Suchitra and Shekhar had tied the knot in 1997 and got divorced in 2006.
