Bollywood's iconic make up artist Pandhari Juker passes away at the age of 88; Amitabh Bachchan mourns his death

Renowned makeup artist Pandhari Juker, who has worked with Bollywood veterans like Nargis, Dilip Kumar, Meena Kumari, Raj Kapoor, Rajesha Khanna, Sridevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, passed away on Monday at the age of 88.

For the unversed, the iconic makeup artist has been in the show business for almost sixty years. Fondly known as Pandhari dada, he began his career in black and white films. It is touted that he was a close aide to Yash Chopra and it was him who persuaded filmmaker Subhash Ghai to cast Madhuri Dixit in his film Karma. What's more? Pandhari dada was put of town for a few days during the shoot of Amitabh Bachchan's first film Saat Hindustani. However, he had to return back because Big B continued to shoot without washing his face, wearing the makeup that Pandhari had done, until he returned.
