These never-seen-before pictures of Kareena Kapoor Khan from the sets of Hrithik Roshan-Ameesha Patel starrer ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ are pure gold

Hrithik Roshan took everyone by storm when he debuted in Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai way back in 2000. The film went on to be a roaring hit at the box office and catapulted him in the big league. He clinched every award that year and in fact, made it a bonafide record as well. Apart from Hrithik, the film also introduced Ameesha Patel as the female lead. However, not many people know that the film was first to be made with Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Kareena and Hrithik were supposed to be launched with Rakesh Roshan’s directorial Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai but after shooting a small portion, the former opted out of the film. Kareena reasoned that the film was a launch vehicle for Hrithik and she does not want to star in such a small role and eventually made her debut with JP Dutta’s Refugee opposite Abhishek Bachchan. Kaho Na Pyar Hai January 14, 2000. “There was no fight as people are making it out to be. It was probably destined that I was not to be in the film. After all, it was a launch for his (Rakesh Roshan) son. The whole focus was on the boy. Now I am glad I didn't do the movie for reasons I don't want to enumerate. There was no fight as such. Although Kareena and Hrithik went on to star in a couple of films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Main Prem Ki Deewani Hoon, Yaadein, etc, the actress never shared any cordial relations with Ameesha. The competition between the two was paramount in their young days as Ameesha clinched quite a few awards for her role in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.
