The Actresses Roundtable 2019: Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Vidya Balan, Alia Bhatt and Yami Gautam talk about the roles offered to women in Bollywood; watch

Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Bhumi Pednekar, Alia Bhatt and Yami Gautam recently came together to shoot for Rajeev Masand’s annual feature ‘The Actresses Roundtable’. The five actresses have had a resounding year and have managed to give the leading heroes a run for their money. In a promo that was released prior to airing of the episode, the leading ladies talk about films, the kind of roles offered to women in Bollywood, misogyny and success amongst other things.

In the promo that was shared online, Taapsee revealed that after watching Arjun Reddy she did not watch Kabir Singh. Bhumi and Vidya expressed their discontent with the kind of roles written for women in Bollywood. Vidya said that for the longest time she envisioned herself in the role of her male counterparts whereas Bhumi stated that there aren’t enough roles written for women period. Yami and Alia, on the other hand, spoke about success in Bollywood. Watch the promo below:

The show will air on Saturday, December 21 at 8 pm and 11 pm and on Sunday, December 22 at 2pm and 10pm only on CNN News.
