Watch: Once the situation has been studied, I’ll give my view point: Varun Dhawan on the ongoing student protest in nation

The makers of Varun Dhawan's and Shraddha Kapoor's Street Dancer 3D released its much-awaited trailer at a launch event held in the city on Wednesday. During the same, apart from delving deeper into the film, the lead actor Varun spoke about the ongoing protest by students of Delhi's Jamia Milia Islamia against the Citizenship Amendment Act. Talking about the same, Varun, when quizzed about the fear that certain celebrities possess while tweeting on a sensitive issue, told that it differs from person to person and he isn't afraid of anyone.

"It is a personal thing. It is not about fear and I am not scared of anyone because I love my country and my countrymen. I am feeling the safest in this room. I believe speaking out today has become social media matlab aapne tweet nahi kiya toh aap galat ho but tweet karne se kya hota hai? What I feel as a person is I can have that conversation in the living room with my friends and parents and I think the best way for all of us to make a difference is by living your life," Varun told.

Adding to the statement, Varun said that being a public figure, he will talk about his views only after studying the situation well. Clarifying that he isn't pro or against anyone, the actor further stated that he is trying to be responsible and not instigate anyone wrongly.

"Right now the matter is sensitive. It is very easy to speak and say something or to slam someone. It is the easiest thing, muh se kaha ya likh diya. But when you are a public personality, people follow, so once the situation has been studied, then I will give my view point of something. I am not pro or against someone and I am not saying this out of fear. I am just trying to be responsible in what I say because I don’t want to instigate someone wrongly," Varun added.
