Like several 90s kids, Virat Kohli also swears by ‘Captain Planet’ and ‘Scooby Doo’ names them as his favourite cartoon characters while growing up!

Its Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli’s birthday today and an animated series titled Super V is all set to air on television which is loosely based on the cricketer’s life. It is a fictional show that follows the life of a 15-year-old cricketing prodigy who discovers his superpowers and uses them to save the world from myriad villains. The series was launched a few days back and Virat, who was present at the launch, revealed a lot of fun things like his favourite superhero and cartoons when he was a kid.

During the launch event, Virat was asked while growing up who was his favourite superhero. To which the cricketer said that he loved Captain Planet and also shared that he used to watch the series every day. Apart from that, he also mentioned Scooby-Doo as a series that he regularly watched even though the dog is not a superhero but unravels ghostly mysteries on the go with his gang of friends.

Virat said, “Captain Planet was one superhero who I thought was the dude.” Virat mentioned that as a kid, he wanted to wear the costume of Captain Planet or Spider-man and thought them to be too cool. He said that he wanted to wear the costumes so that he could scare people off.

With Virat’s confession, it has brought a lot of fond memories of iconic and noteworthy cartoon series for us 90s kids. We’re sure many of you will resonate with Virat’s choice and have been hit by a whiff of nostalgia. Super V premieres on November 5, which marks the occasion of Virat Kohli’s 31st birthday, at 3.30 pm on Star Plus, Star Sports, Disney and Marvel HQ.
