Hrithik Roshan to reportedly play don Haji Mastan's character in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt

Basking in the success of War, Hrithik Roshan has reportedly been approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play yesteryear’s don Haji Mastan’s character in Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi. If reports are to be believed then we will be seeing Alia sharing the screen space with Alia for the very first time.

The Padmaavat director apparently approached War actor to be a part of his film. According to a report in a leading magazine, SLB has approached Hrithik to play yesteryear’s don Haji Mastan's character in the film. Gangubai Kathiawadi will reportedly go on floors in December this year. Although Hrithik hasn’t given a nod to this project, if the rumours turn out to be true, it will be Hrithik’s first collaboration with Alia Bhatt. A few days back, reports were also doing the rounds that Ajay Devgn too may star in SLB’s project.

Gangubai Kathiawadi is said to be based on a brothel madam from the red light area, Kamathipura in Mumbai. She is said to have changed the face of the region and is one of the most remembered women from the history of Mumbai. Gangubai is believed to have been pushed into prostitution at a very young age and became the most influential pimp, having served several renowned criminals from the city.
