Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to add some Indian flavour to the role of Maleficent in its Hindi version

Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has officially set foot in the Disney Universe. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star will be dubbing for the role of Maleficent in the Hindi version of film Maleficent: Mistress Of Evil. The film is a sequel of the 2014 blockbuster film Maleficent, where Angelina plays a misunderstood and evil fairy who curses newborn princess Aurora, based on the classic fairytale Sleeping Beauty. As kids, we all must have read the Sleeping Beauty and the enchanting journey of princess Aurora but this dark fiction fantasy showed a rebellious side of the most misunderstood fairy in the Disney universe. With her prominent cheeks, enhancing horns and beautiful but massive wings Maleficent played by the infamous Angelina Jolie, reminded us that not all fairytales are an epitome of ecstasy and happiness.

Talking about matching the pace of voice of the rebellious character Maleficent, Aishwarya is no doubt the perfect fit! Bikram Duggal, Head Studio Entertainment, Disney India felt the same as he stated, “We wanted to build a strong connect & bring her character to life in Hindi & felt Aishwarya’s persona which is filled with elegance & poise would be a perfect blend.”

The fashionista also pulled off the “Maleficent” avatar so splendidly. Celebrity designer Florian Hurel recently shared pictures of the actress dressed in all black with green eyes and her hair styled like that of the style of the character, making her look no less gorgeous than Angelina Jolie in Maleficent’s ensemble.
