H4 Trailer Launch: 'Now there are sexual harassment officers in every production company,' says Akshay Kumar on changes after MeToo movement

Filmmaker Sajid Khan was in the middle of the shooting of his film Housefull 4, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, when the allegation of sexual harassment came into the picture and as the matter took a serious turn, he stepped down from being the film's director. Saloni Chopra, Rachel White, Simran Suri and journalist Karishma Upadhyay, were among those who accused Sajid of inappropriate behaviour. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Kriti Kharbanda, was eventually helmed by Farhad Samji.

During the trailer launch of the film today, Akshay Kumar was questioned what changes has he seen in the industry ever since #MeToo began with Housefull 4. To which he said, "There have been lot of changes. For example, when I made Mission Mangal and started the film, I know that every production company (even Sajid Nadiadwala's company) now has sexual harassment officers, who make sure that nothing goes wrong. They are there to take the complaints and are aware of everything that is happening. The security is taken care of and we don't want any kind of misbehaviour."
