Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have been setting major romantic couple goals ever since they tied the knot in a private ceremony at Lake Como in November 2018. The couple has been an embodiment of love and grace and there ain't a denial. Be it heaping admiration or showering compliments on each other Ranveer and Deepika have done it all. And now, as Bollywood geared up for IIFA Awards homecoming after 20 years of hosting internationally, the couple made sure to pour out all the love. Videos of Ranveer, as he received an award for his role as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat gave a heartwarming speech for his darling wife Deepika, who in turn got emotional upon hearing praises from her husband.
In the video, we can hear Ranveer compliment Deepika's Madame Tussauds London wax statue and said it is the best one after Morgan Freeman. Jokingly, the actor further added that his mother-in-law Ujjala Padukone encouraged him to work hard to earn a wax statue. A teared up Deepika, couldn't control her laughter upon hearing her husband's statement. "My wife's statue is the sexiest of all. Deepika is a perfectionist, she was very particular about all the time she dedicated to her statue. Her statue is the best one. Baby, you and Morgan Freeman have the best statue. I've to figure out my pose and dress," Ranveer said.
Deepika's wax statue was unveiled in March at Madame Tussauds, London, in attendance of her parents, Prakash and Ujjala Padukone, in-laws Jagjit Singh Bhavnani and Anju Bhavnani along with Ranveer.
Workwise, Ranveer and Deepika will be starring together for the first time post marriage in Kabir Khan directed '83 that traces the journey of the Indian cricket team to victory during 1983 world cup against West Indies. Ranveer plays the role of the captain, Kapil Dev while Deepika is his onscreen wife Romi Dev. The film is scheduled to release on April 10, 2020.
