When 'teacher' Anupam Kher left his 'student' Deepika Padukone in tears!

Anupam Kher is a bona fide brilliant actor Bollywood has ever received. Be it comedy or thriller, the actor knows how to ace each role with sheer perfection. Anupam, over his journey in films, has not just been credited to some beautiful films but also has been responsible for giving great actors to the industry including Varun Dhawan, Kirti Kulhari and Deepika Padukone too. The Saaransh actor, for the unversed, runs his acting school by the name of Actor Prepares. And on the occasion of Teachers' Day, during an interview with a leading daily, Anupam narrated an incident related to his student Deepika. He told that the actress had joined his school for a three-month acting session. Being the perfectionist that she is, she would do her things with finesse. But one fine day, Anupam tried to train her for tougher roles and this indeed proved to be a difficult one for the actress. So much so that the activity she had to perform, left the actress in tears.

"She was a very successful model before she joined my school. She was good at everything, punctual, and would do things with finesse. I had told her ‘you are here for three months, you can’t take a break’. I felt that she wanted to do everything perfectly. My point is, acting is not about perfection, it’s about the rough edges too. One day, to break her composure of being a perfectionist, I gave her an exercise in improvisation. I told her ‘you work as a bai (maid) in a house, there is nothing called ‘perfection’ about her’. She was spick and span about mannerisms, but her character wouldn’t know how to use a fork and a knife. That went on for 45 minutes until I felt she had discovered new things. I think she started crying!,” Anupam told.
