Shraddha Kapoor’s non-violent yet loud protest against felling of Aarey Colony trees earns her an Amul topical advertisement

Shraddha Kapoor, on Sunday, September 2 joined the protest against felling of trees in Mumbai’s Aarey Forest area. She stood amongst the commoners for hours holding placards and shouting slogans against the deforestation orders given by the authorities. In a non-violent yet loud protest she showed her displeasure on the BMC’s approval of chopping off 3,000 trees for Mumbai car shed project. The move has jilted the Mumbaikars as the the Tree Authority of BMC permitted Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) to cut 2,232 trees from the locality, while 469 trees are planned to be relocated for construction of car service.

Shraddha had even gone live on Instagram to educate her fans about the ongoing protest urging them to voice their concerns and lend support to the ongoing movement. Now, Amul in a topical ad has lent its brand voice to the movement as well mirroring Shraddha’s protest in its advertisement. Amul captioned the picture making a spin on Shraddha’s film Stree and wrote, “Don’t make them Histree”. We also get to see one of the cartoons dressed like Shraddha and holding the umbrella-like she did on Sunday. Check it out below:
