Delhi High Court greenlights the release of John Abraham's 'Batla House', but with a few changes

After a bout of speed breaks, the release of John Abraham's thriller Batla House has finally received a green signal from the Delhi High Court. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, on Tuesday, passed the consent order and told that the filmmakers are disposed of the petition filed by the primary accused of the Batla House encounter in 2008- Ariz Khan and Shehzad Ahmad. The Court, along with the clean chit, demanded certain disclaimers and removal of a couple of scenes from the film. The makers have conceded to the minor changes ordered by the court and are working to have these reflected immediately. The makers also said that they are glad to do so to ensure all sentiments and rights of undertrials are not influenced or impacted in any way, as per best efforts.

Speaking of the plea, Ariz, currently undergoing trial in the Batla House encounter case, and Shahzad, sentenced to life imprisonment by a trial court and his appeal is pending in the high court filed a petition in Delhi High Court to shift the release date of Batla House film. The reason for the same as cited in the plea stated the film connects dots between Delhi Serial Blasts and Batla House encounter, which would likely affect the judgment of the ongoing trial in both the cases. This petition was filed August 5 and then, the Court decided to push the hearing to August 13. And now, the decision has been taken.
