Akshay Kumar talks about box-office clash between Bachchan Pandey and Aamir Khan's Lal Singh Chaddha on Christmas 2020

Akshay Kumar will be starring in Farhad Samji's upcoming directorial Bachchan Pandey, which is slated to release on Christamas 2020. The actor recenrtly shared his first look from the film, where he is seen in an enraged look and sporting a black "lungi" and a belt in his hand. The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and marks the tenth collaboration between him and Akshay. While we await to see Akshay in and as Bachchan Pandey, let's not forget that Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks' 1994 classic Forrest Gump, will also release around Christmas in 2020. The film, which is expected to go on the floors in October, is written by Atul Kulkarni and will be helmed by Secret Superstar director Advait Chandan.

Nonetheless, it would be a clash of the titans at the box-office on Christmas next year. While it can make any actor feel pressurised, Akshay claimed that we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. Speaking about the clash, Akshay told a leading daily, "We have 52 Fridays in a year and even fewer holiday weekends. We make over 200 Hindi films a year while Hollywood releases 40 more and then there's the South industry and other regional cinema. So, we should be happy if we have two big releases in a week. This year, on the Independence Day weekend we had three, (Mission Mangal, Batla House, and Saaho) till one bowed out."

Well, it seems Akshay is totally unfazed by it. And why not? The actor easily does 4-5 films in a year and they are bound to clash with some other film at the box-office.

Work wise, Akshay will next be seen in Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal apart from Housefull 4, Ikka, Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and Good News. Aamir, on the other hand, was last seen in Thugs of Hindostan.
