The makers of Ajay Devgn's Singham's Punjabi version- Singham Punjabi featuring Parmish Verma, Kartar Cheema and Sonam Bajwa made its trailer available on social media platforms on July 8. The film has Parmish cast as a tough cop Dilsher Singh while Sonam plays the role of his love interest Nikki. Kartar Cheema is playing the corrupt mafia named Bhullar. Like it's parent film, Singham, this one too is high on stunts and gravity-defying sequences, which serve as a major treat to fans of the renowned actors.
Coming to the trailer, it is all about an honest cop Dilsher, who fears no one when it comes to truth and justice. During his tenure, he is sent to an area which operates only on the orders of a mafia, led by Bhullar who takes pride in keeping the law and the people of law enforcement in his pocket. But Dilsher is no other cop. He makes sure to end Bhullar’s dominance and leaves no stone unturned. Soon, he falls in love with Nikki, with whom he dances around the bush and develops an environment filled with love.
Speaking of the trailer, it is evident that key scenes from the Hindi Singham like the lead actress' dupatta being snatched to car flying in the air and throwing criminals in the air just to bash them hard seem quite similar. Parmish fits into Ajay's shoes fairly well whereas Sonam is as gorgeous as Kajal Aggarwal. Within just 3 minutes, Parmish and she stole the show, making us want to see them spell magic on screen. Talking about Kartar, he does his job well but fails to be as dreaded and powerful like Jaykant Shikre played by Prakash Raj. The overall backdrop of the film supports the story and adds a distinct touch to the feel of the film. Although comparisons are inevitable as Singham has made an everlasting impression on the minds of many. Keeping all aside, Singham Punjabi stays true to its genre and is all set to win the hearts of the audience of Punjabi cinema soon.
Singham Punjabi is directed by Navaniat Singh and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak. The film is all scheduled to release on August 9, 2019.
