Guess Who: Washing ‘dirty linen’ in public the Bollywood way…

It’s called washing dirty linen in public. And, in the true sense of the phrase, the dirty linen being aired for public consumption is never that which the washer once wore. Oh no, it’s always somebody else’s who has now fallen out of favour and must be shamefully exposed for what they are. However, this Bollywood actress (indefatigable in her fight against the actors who allegedly used, abused and wronged her) has got the phrase in a twist. She’s all set to air her own dirty linen before the police in a valiant bid to bring this yesteryear faded actor down with whom she has had a falling out.

What she’s doing is nothing new. Monica Lewinsky, the White House intern, you remember, notoriously aired her stained undergarments for a DNA test to prove that Bill Clinton had sex with her? And that among other things is what brought shame to Clinton and dishonor to the White House? Well, this Bollywood actress is crazily about to do the same. She has reportedly saved the soiled undergarments she wore back in the mid-2000s when this actor old enough to be her father allegedly raped her. And as proof of the rape, she is now going to proudly present them to the police!

If our forensics are as up-to-date as Washington’s, no doubt, her undergarments will reveal they were at the scene of sex. But whether this was consensual or rape as the actress claims, the police is going to have a time proving. We don't envy them their job. But we have one question for the police that they might ask the actress. Why did she hold on to this evidence from way back then? Was it to use as vendetta at a later date, like now? Or was it as a memento? Usually, it is the man who keeps back some trophy of his secret rendezvous, you know?
