Here's why Akshay Kumar is taking a two-day break from the shoot of Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi

The shooting for the fourth instalment of the Housefull franchise, starring Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Kharbanda, Rana Dagubatti and Pooja Hegde, concluded in November last year. However, the cast of the Farhad Samji-directorial reunited for a special song at a city studio. Interestingly, the song also featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a guest turn as an exorcist who introduces a plot twist. The shoot was conducted with 300 background dancers and the cast even shared BTS pictures from the same.

Now, adding to the excitement, we hear that the Housefull 4 team is all set to reunite once again, this time to shoot for another song in Mumbai. The reincarnation comedy is said to be divided into two parts—the present and the “Baahubali era”. Reportedly, the upcoming song is a dance number and will also form a part of the narrative in the modern portion of the story. “It’s composed by Sohail Sen, and all the six actors will shoot for it on June 28 and 29,” a leading daily quoted a source as saying, further adding, “It’s a grand set-up with 200-250 background dancers. The team has rehearsed with Ganesh several times before the shoot."

Hence, Akshay, who is currently in Hyderabad shooting for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi along with Katrina Kaif, will reportedly take a two-day break from the cop-drama to shoot the Housefull 4 song. “It’s a scaled-up film, the biggest in the franchise in terms of budget. The chunk from the Baahubali era that required visual effects were shot much in advance. A team is working on the final edit and VFX,” informed the source.

Housefull 4 is slated to release this Diwali and is currently in the post-production stage.
