Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani starrer Kabir Singh might be getting rave reviews from the film critics and the audience alike, but the film is facing a bigger crisis. The film which released on June 21 has been leaked on torrent website TamilRockers within hours of its release. The film fell prey to online piracy in no time.
Kabir Singh had a great opening at the box office. It raked in over Rs 20 crore at the box office on its first day itself becoming Shahid’s biggest opener so far. However, with the film being leaked online the film’s collections might take a hit. This is not the first time that TamilRockers have struck. They are well-known to leak Hindi as well as Southern regional films online.
Kabir Singh is the Hindi remake of the Telugu super hit Arjun Reddy and is directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga who also directed the original. The original film stared Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde. Shahid plays an alcoholic surgeon in the film that is unable to come to terms with reality when his girlfriend gets married to another man. His character goes through an emotional self-destructive phase after his break-up.
