Confirmed: Kriti Sanon to play a media professional in Rahul Dholakia's upcoming thriller

Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon, who was last seen in Laxman Utekar’s Hindi directorial debut Luka Chuppi, has an eclectic lineup of films ahead, inlcuding Farhad Samji’s Housefull 4, Rohit Jugraj’s Arjun Patiala and Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. Now according to a leading daily, Kriti has now been finalised to star in an upcoming thriller by Rahul Dholakia, the National Award winning director who also helmed Shah Rukh Khan starrer Raees. The Sunir Khetarpal production will reportedly go on the floors in August.

Kriti confirmed the news to the daily and mentioned how she had been waiting for the right female driven film to come her way. Adding that this one 'ticked all the boxes,' the actress said, I play a media professional for which the research has already started. I can’t wait to start shooting for this film. It’s an entertainer with a powerful core idea and will connect with audiences without being preachy.”

The film, which will be shot in a start-to-finish schedule, has been written by author-turned-screenwriter Bilal Siddiqi and will feature heavy on visual effects. Talking about the project, Rahul, who is co-producing it, said that Kriti is the ideal choice for the protagonist. “This idea was pitched while it was being developed and we realised that there is an exciting thriller format that this story lends itself to."

Meanwhile, Sunir further informed PeepingMoon.com that the film will release in the first half of 2020 and the team will be conducting a week-long workshop in July-end. "It is a delight to package this subject with Rahul and Kriti. We will start shooting in August and the Film will be readied for release in first half of 2020. The Film is in pre-production with Rahul, Kriti and the team doing a week long workshop in end July before embarking on a start to finish schedule in August.  The core idea behind this taut thriller has excited all of us," he told us.
