It would not be wrong to say that all eyes are currently set on Ananya Panday, daughter of Chunky Panday and Bhavna Panday, as she is all set to make her debut in Punit Malhotra's Student of the Year 2. A sequel to 2012 film which launched Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, SOTY 2 is bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and is slated to release tomorrow on May 10.
Now ahead of the film's release, Ananya's doting parents had some interesting things to share about their daughter. Talking about her, mother Bhavna told an entertainment portal, "Ananya is literally a honeymoon baby. We were married in January 1998, and she was born in October. People were actually calculating if I conceived her before or after marriage. We still had to discover each other and then we had this beautiful baby. She has been with us from our first anniversary." She further revealed how they wanted a Sanskrit name for her and hence, settled on Ananya. "We settled on Ananya, as it means matchless," she said while Chunky added, "Jiska koi muqabla kar nahi sakta."
Meanwhile, several media reports suggested that Ananya was supposed to leave for University of Southern California in US when she got to know about SOTY 2 auditions. Talking about it, Chunky stated, "as parents, we were under lots of pressure when Ananya had to choose between Student Of The Year 2 (SOTY 2) and an academic course for which she was selected abroad," and Bhavna quipped, "But Ananya had already made up her mind, SOTY 2 it will be!"
SOTY 2 also stars Tiger Shroff and debutante Tara Sutaria.
