Ananya Panday, the enthu cutlet amongst the Student Of The Year 2 trio, recently spoke about her film's producer Karan Johar who is said to be a mentor for several newcomers of Bollywood.
When asked about Punit being a part of the film throughout but what did she learn from Karan Johar because he has launched so many people and has always mentored everybody and played the role of a mentor, Ananya said, "So actually Karan has not actually been that much of a part because I think he just wants like Punit do his own thing and breathe because Karan can like, you know, people can get scared of him because I have been very scared of Karan so I know what that feeling is like (laughs). Because actually a lot of people think like you know Karan and I have this ‘buddy-buddy’ relationship and we do but I used to be terrified of Karan and he didn’t even know that I wanted to be an actor. I remember going to his office and I was terrified to audition in front of Karan and like that would just be the scariest thing in the world! But luckily he wasn’t in the room and he saw a video later on. But yeah (laughs). Karan has kind of just let us be and let us do our own thing and (nervous laugh) I am yet to know what he thinks about the film."
Directed by Punit Malhotra, SOTY 2 is all set to release on May 10, 2019. The film marks the Bollywood debut of Ananya and Tara Sutaria.
