Janhvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena biopic title reportedly awaiting clearance from MoD; Sidharth Malhotra’s ‘Kargil’s Sher Shah’ approved

The title of Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming film, reportedly named Kargil Girl, is still awaiting clearance from the Ministry of Defence (MoD), a leading daily reports. Kargil Girl is a biopic on IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena and Janvhi stars in the lead role in the film. The makers of Kargil Girl, as per sources, have not announced the title officially as yet since the name of the film hasn’t been cleared.

Janhvi began filming in February in Lucknow and April 28 onwards, the team will shoot with Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi. While Angad has been cast as Janhvi’s brother in the film, Tripathi plays their father. “They will also shoot near Lucknow’s air force station,” a source told the daily.

On the other hand, Sidharth Malhotra’s Vikram Batra biopic, titled Kargil’s Sher Shah, has been approved by the MoD. “It’s called Kargil’s Sher Shah. Both the title and the script have been cleared. The team has now submitted the list of shoot locations for the go-head,” the source added.

                                

Shabbir Boxwala, co-producer of the Vikram Batra biopic, also said, “We have submitted all requisite paperwork. The title and script have been cleared.”

Kargil’s Sher Shah will begin filming in May in Chandigarh.
