CONFIRMED! 'Tere Naam' to get a sequel; will Salman Khan play the lead role in it?

Be it for his hairstyle or his unique body language and style, Salman Khan's iconic character of Radhe Mohan in 2003 drama Tere Naam was loved by all. The film, a remake of Tamil film Sethu, was directed by Satish Kaushik and also marked the debut of Bhumika Chawla. Now after 16 years, we hear that Satish is all set to return with Tere Naam sequel and we cannot contain our excitement. "The sequel is a new story, Satish finished writing the script recently. It is a love story revolving around a gangster and will be set in North India," a leading daily quoted a source as saying. Reportedly, the character names are being retained for the sequel, which is all set to go on floors by the year-end.

The filmmaker confirmed the news of the sequel as well and told the daily, "Yes it’s true, I am making Tere Naam 2 which is a love story. That’s all I can say for now."

However, the main question remains if Salman would be playing the lead role in the sequel as well? Talking about it, the source informed, "Satish and Salman share a great bond and have recently worked together in Bharat. But it is yet to be decided if Salman will feature in the film or a new cast will be brought on board." With Salman having so much on his plate with Bharat, Dabangg 3 and Inshallah, we certainly await an announcement on the casting.
