Last week, the EC had issued an order barring the screening of political films during the Lok Sabha Elections. The filmmakers of PM Narendra Modi challenged this ruling by moving their appeal to the apex court based on the argument that the poll panel had barred the film’s release without even watching it.

On Monday, the Supreme Court told the EC to watch the film and to submit its report. The next hearing is scheduled for April 22. "I can't tell you their response, but we are happy after meeting them and getting their answer," said Vivek. The Supreme Court had said let the EC decide the matter.

Directed by Omung Kumar and also starring Boman Irani, the film was slated to release on April 11, the first day of polling for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier in the day, Vivek was seen at the Mumbai airport while he was on his way to meet the Election Commission.
