Punit Malhotra’s upcoming romantic drama, Student of the Year 2 starring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday in the lead has created immense excitement and anticipation amongst the audience with its trailer. The film is produced by Karan Johar under his banner Dharma Productions and is a sequel to his hit 2012 directorial Student of the Year. Now, the makers are all set to release SOTY 2’s first song tomorrow titled Gili Gili Akkha.
Gili Gili Akkha is a recreated version of Randhir Kapoor’s and Jaya Bachchan’s hit song Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani from their 1972 film Jawani Diwani. The original iconic song was sung by Kishore Kumar. We got a glimpse of the song in Student of the Year 2’s trailer where we get to see the lead trio along with Aditya Seal dance to its peppy tunes. Karan shared the news on social media about the song’s release tomorrow with a video featuring Tiger, Tara and Ananya. In the video, they are seen dancing on the original version which is being played behind them on a projector screen.

Tiger, Tara and Ananya seem elated to dance on the recreated version. Tiger reveals, “This is my Dad’s favourite song and I got to dance on it”, while Tara says, “Most iconic song ever.” Ananya concludes and says, “It is such a privilege for us to dance on this song.”
Interestingly, Hollywood star Will Smith shot for this song for his show The Bucket List, we wonder whether we get to catch a glimpse of him shaking a leg in the song as well. Student of the Year 2 is all set to release on May 10 and will be the Bollywood debut of both Tara and Ananya.
