Did Sara Ali Khan ‘politely’ turn down a role in the Udham Singh biopic starring Vicky Kaushal?

Sara Ali Khan is currently busy filming Imtiaz Ali’s new project with Kartik Aaryan and seems like, isn’t signing up for other films at the moment because if a report in a leading website is anything to go by, she has turned down a role in Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic. Vicky Kaushal has been cast as the protagonist in the heroic narration of Shaheed Udham Singh in his biopic.

While no other details of the role that was offered to Sara in the film has been made available, sources did tell the website that Sara “politely” refused to star in the film because “she felt it wouldn’t give her enough exposure as an actress.”

Moreover, Imtiaz Ali’s film is what she is concentrating on, and doesn’t have dates to provide to Shoojit Sircar, is also what sources told the website.

Well, of course, there isn’t any confirmation on this report so far by either Sara or the makers. The Udham Singh biopic, nevertheless, marks Vicky’s and Shoojit’s first collaboration – it will be produced by Ronnie Lahiri under the banner Rising Sun Films.

Udham Singh assassinated Michael O' Dwyer, the former lieutenant governor of Punjab in pre-Independence India, in revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar in 1919. Singh was subsequently tried and convicted of murder and hanged in July 1940.

Sara Ali Khan made her debut in Bollywood with Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in 2018 and subsequently co-starred with Ranveer Singh in Simmba.
