Sanjay Kapoor's and Maheep Kapoor’s stunning daughter Shanaya Kapoor is all set for her Bollywood launch as an actress in 2020. But before that, she has decided to enter the film industry, not as an actor, but as an assistant director. While we got to know that Shanaya is in Lucknow at the moment as she is assisting the director of an upcoming film, we now hear that the project is none other than cousin Janhvi Kapoor's next, a biopic based on IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena.
A leading daily quoted a source as saying, "The team will be shooting in Lucknow for the next two weeks before moving to other locations. While Shanaya has made up her mind about being an actress, her parents wanted her to experience life behind the scenes first. She had been making regular rounds of Karan Johar’s Andheri office to work on the project."

For the unversed, the Gunjan Saxena biopic is being helmed by debutante Sharan Sharma, who has previously assisted KJo on 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Gunjan was the first female IAF pilot who flew into a combat zone during the Kargil War in 1999 and helped evacuate soldiers. For her bravery, she was honoured with the Shaurya Chakra, an Indian military decoration.
