Ever since Sara Ali Khan made her debut in Bollywood in 2018, she has often been asked about her equation with Kareena Kapoor Khan while discharging promotional duties. As far as the 38-year-old actress is concerned, she's often heard addressing Sara fondly and in a recent interview with an entertainment portal, she reiterated her words, saying that they are “friends more than anything else.”
Sara is Saif Ali Khan’s first child with former wife Amrita Singh. After Saif and Amrita Singh divorced in 2004, he married Kareena Kapoor in 2012. Speaking of her relationship with Sara, Kareena told the portal, “I have always said that we are friends more than anything else. That’s the most important. We respect each other.”

Sara made her debut with Kedarnath in December and Kareena loved the film, she said, adding that the young actress has imbibed the best qualities of her parents. “I think it’s the start of a beautiful journey ahead for her in this industry because I saw Kedarnath and I genuinely feel she has the best of both her parents and you know, I can never be her mother because that’s not what I am to her. But I can always be her friend,” Kareena added.

While promoting Kedarnath, Sara had said that she is inspired by Kareena and hoped to imbibe her “professionalism” as far as work is concerned. On Koffee With Karan 6 as well, Sara during her appearance on Karan Johar’s show with Saif, had said that Kareena would have a “heart attack” if she is referred to as ‘Choti Ma’ by her.
Workwise, Sara Ali Khan also appeared in Ranveer Singh’s Simmba after Kedarnath, which released in December as well.
