Hrithik Roshan is celebrating his 45th birthday today and he probably got the best birthday gift ever when his father Rakesh Roshan’s surgery was successful. The actor shared a picture from his birthday celebration with his family where Rakesh can be seen with a feeding pipe on his nose. He wrote that his father is “up and about” after the surgery.
Hrithik had shared a couple of days ago in a social media post that the veteran filmmaker has been suffering from throat cancer. Rakesh Roshan was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma in the throat. Post his surgery today, Hrithik posted the picture and thanked everyone for their wishes and prayers. The picture includes Rakesh, his wife Pinky Roshan, his brother music composer Rajesh Roshan, Hrithik and other family members.

Hrithik had shared the news of Rakesh’s cancer with a heartwarming and strong caption that read, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him…Love you Dad.”
Following Hrithik’s news of Rakesh’s cancer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also wished the veteran filmmaker good health and speedy recovery. He had also addressed him as a fighter.
