Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan fails to impress fans in China

Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan, which released in China last week, has failed to impress audiences in the neighbouring country, a leading daily reports. Fans apparently refrained from watching Thugs Of Hindostan despite the holiday season in China while Aamir's promotional campaign didn't help either.

Chinese film buffs, though, are ardent fans of Aamir considering the actor's Dangal and Secret Superstar, fared exceptionally well at the box office in the neighbouring country. As for Thugs Of Hindostan, the report also states that the film has been "labelled" as a 'knock-off version of Pirates Of The Caribbean' by the Chinese press.

Produced by Aditya Chopra under his banner Yash Raj Films and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Thugs Of Hindostan starred Amitabh Bachchan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif apart from Aamir. It released on Diwali and was one of the most anticipated films of 2018. However, it not only tanked at the box office in India but was widely panned by the audience and critics as well.

While addressing the press in November after the dismal performance of Thugs Of Hindostan, Aamir had taken full responsibility for the film's failure.
