Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone finally tied the knot with beau Ranveer Singh in November this year at Italy's Lake Como after being in a steady relationship with him for six years. While she's busy enjoying the martial bliss, DP was last seen on the silver screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. But guess what? She still manages to stand tall as the fourth highest paid actor in India currently.
Now in a recent interview with a leading magazine, Deepika opened up on the issue of wage disparity between Bollywood's actors and actresses and revealed how Ranveer was okay when she was making more money than him earlier. Stating how she's proud of earning more than many of her male co-stars, she pointed out, "I'm willing to let go of work because I know how much other people are getting paid. I’m confident enough to say no to a film, an endorsement or even an appearance. I’m not doing this for me. I’m doing this because I’d like to pave the way for the generations that’ll follow."

Deepika further talked about how she's willing to reduce her fee only if the money is going into the film and not because her male co-actor's fee has to be compensated. Maintaining that she's not delusional and is aware of how much she delivers professionally, the 32-year old actress added, "If you’re going to say that don’t charge so much because we want Ranbir Kapoor in the film and we’ve got to pay him, then I’m not okay with it. I’ll then demand an equal amount."
Meanwhile, she was also praises for her husband in this case and said, "Some years ago, when I was making more money than him, he was okay with it. It was evident not only in what he told me, even in his actions."
Well, Ranveer is certainly the boyfriend and the husband of the millennium, undoubtedly!
