Kangana has directed 70 per cent of Manikarnika and is worthy of getting director credit: Producer Kamal Jain

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, featuring Kangana Ranaut as brave heart and fierce warrior queen Rani Lakshmibai, has been in news ever since it was announced. Be director Krish's exit from the film or the actors having an issue with Kangana taking over the reins, the buzz around the film refused to die down.
For the unversed, Kangana stepped into the director's shoes Krish had to leave midway for other prior commitments. In fact, there has been a lot of talk regarding the directing credits of the film, with producer Kamal Jain commenting about how both Kangana and Krish should be credited for their work.
Now at the trailer launch of Manikarnika, Kamal once again revealed that the team decided to push the envelope further and reshoot or shoot new portions once Kangana came on board as the director. Stating how Kangana has shot more than 70 percent of the film and it would have been unfair to not give her credit for it, he told the media, "Since Krish was not available, Kangana Ranaut was the most suitable one because she has been living the film, since forever. Creatively, she is inclined and has taken onus on herself. She has done everything with passion and interest."

He further added, "As a producer, I believe that even if someone has worked on my film for just a day, I have to give credit to them. It will be absolutely unethical and unfair on my part as a producer. Even if she would have told me, 'No, don't give my name,' I would have given her credit."
Produced by Zee Studios, Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi will be releasing in theatres on January 25, 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages simultaneously.
