Double celebration for Priyanka: Features on US Vogue cover and launches dating app Bumble

Priyanka Chopra or Priyanka Chopra Jonas as she is going to be known now that she is married to American singer-actor Nick Jonas is a force to be reckoned with. She is a woman of substance who lives life on her own terms and conditions. Not bogged down by male Bollywood superstars, Priyanka has become a global icon and the face of an Indian film industry in Hollywood.

Priyanka has broken another ground, as she has become the first Indian woman to grace the cover of American Vogue in the magazine’s 126-year history. Now, that’s a very big deal and it’s about time that Indians and that too an Indian woman gets her due on a global platform.

Within days of getting married to Nick, Priyanka is back in the game by launching the social and dating application Bumble in India in which she is an investor as well. After launching the app in Delhi, Priyanka and Nick launched it in Mumbai tonight as well. Check out the pictures below.

The app aims at bringing a social change and focuses on women empowerment by letting only the women make the first move in heterosexual matches. India is the first Asian country to get Bumble. The app was founded by Whitney Wolfe Herd after she left Tinder, a well-known dating app that she co-founded.

Wearing an embellished gown Priyanka looked resplendent as a new bride. Nick and she launched the app in Mumbai today. Priyanka looked absolutely ravishing as she wore her chooda, mangalsutra and sindoor with aplomb while donning a western dress. Some might say that the look is unconventional but then when has Priyanka followed the herd?
