Rohit Shetty offered Simmba when no one was looking at me as Kedarnath was facing issues, says Sara

2018 is a memorable year for Sara Ali Khan because soon after her debut film Kedarnath’s release in two days, her second film Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh will hit screens in the last week of December. And for offering her Simmba while Kedarnath witnessed a halt due to production issues, Sara is only grateful to director Rohit Shetty, she said during an interview with a news agency.

During her interview, Sara said that Rohit offered her Simmba while Kedarnath was “facing issues” and the director, in fact, had not even watched a “glimpse” of Kedarnath and yet, signed the actress for his film.

“I am so lucky because Rohit sir did not even see a glimpse of Kedarnath but he offered me this role. He gave me this opportunity at a time when no one in the industry was looking at me because Kedarnath was facing issues. Both Gattu (Abhishek) sir and Rohit sir will always be important to me,” Sara told the news agency.

While filming, Kedarnath mired itself into a controversy since it was earlier being made in collaboration with director Abhishek Kapoor’s Guy In The Sky Pictures (GITS) and KriArj Entertainment, but after they parted ways, Ronnie Screwvala and his creative production house RSVP joined hands with the director.

Kedarnath is an eternal love story set in the backdrop of the flash floods that wrecked the temple town in June 2013. The film will release on December 7. Simmba will release on December 28.
