The pre-wedding festivities of the much-awaited wedding of the year have finally started. After the Mehendi ceremony of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh that was held today at Lake Como in Italy, we have confirmed news that the lovebirds are officially engaged now. Ranveer and Deepika have sealed the deal with the exchange of rings. Their engagement was held last night in Italy.
A close group of 35 people that comprised of only family and close friends were in attendance. The engagement ceremony that took place yesterday was the traditional Konkani Phool Muddi ceremony, where the bride’s father welcomes the groom’s parents. Deepika’s father former badminton champion Prakash Padukone gave Ranveer a coconut and formally welcomed him to the family. Ranveer’s and Deepika’s wedding is a very intimate affair and no Bollywood colleagues or peers are a part of the ceremony.

Ranveer and Deepika will be getting married tomorrow in Konkani style whereas the Sindhi rituals will take place on November 15. Deepika will be wearing a white and gold saree for the Konkani wedding tomorrow. They will be wearing colour coordinated outfits for their wedding functions. For the Anand Karaj ceremony on November 15, Deepika will be wearing a lehenga and Ranveer will don a sherwani by Sabyasachi.
The actors will be holding two receptions one in Bengaluru for Deepika’s extended family and another in Mumbai for their industry friends, which will be held on November 28.
