Akshara Haasan approaches Mumbai police after her private photos get leaked online

Kamal Haasan’s youngest daughter Akshara Haasan’s private pictures were leaked online on November 5. Although the actress earlier got her PR manager to vehemently deny that the photos were hers, she later took to social media to express her angst and called the entire incident as "deeply unfortunate".

Akshara, who made her Bollywood debut with Amitabh Bachchan starrer Shamitabh, wrote on Twitter, It’s particularly disturbing and deeply upsetting to see that at a time when the nation has woken up to the #metoo movement, there are still people out there who would harass and attempt to share private pictures of a young girl in the public eye only to derive some perverse pleasure that appeals only to them."

Further confirming that she has become a victim of the cyber crime, Akshara revealed that she has approached Mumbai Police and Cyber cell and hopes to get to the bottom of it. She added, "I have reached out to the mumbaipolice and the cybercell to seek their help in tracking the person/s responsible for this leak and hope to get to the bottom of this soon," further requesting the netizens to not actively participating in her harassment.

Although Akshara has made police complaints, there is no mention in the reports of the hacker getting in touch with the actress for reasons of blackmail or otherwise.

Workwise, she was last seen in Ajith's Viswasam in 2017 and is currently working on a project alongside Vikram, produced under her father's banner, Raaj Kamal Films.
