Thugs Of Hindostan: Aamir Khan reveals the story of the ‘chunky nose pin’ that his character Firangi sports

Aamir Khan’s character Firangi from his new film Thugs Of Hindostan has been applauded as fans are in awe of his look. Baggy clothes, dhoti, kohl-rimmed eyes and his nose piercing of course – it didn’t take much to become a fan of Firangi soon after the poster and trailer released. In an interview with a leading daily, Aamir said that the fact that Firangi should sport a nose pin was an instinctive feeling for him, and it has now become a part of his life.

“When I started working on this role, I felt Firangi should have a nose pin. It was instinctive for me. When I live with all of this, whether it’s the nose ring or the studs, it becomes a part of me,” Aamir told the daily.

In fact, Aamir had also said that the idea of wearing a nose pin was derived from a childhood friend and that he had also borrowed the particular piece that he sported and asked the designers to recreate it for Firangi.

Director Vijay Krishna Acharya added that Aamir has given his heart and soul to Firangi as he said, “It was a brave attempt on his part. He has given a lot of blood to this role!”

Fashion designers Rushi Sharma and Manoshi Nath, responsible for creating the looks and costumes of the cast, said that Aamir desired to wear the “chunkiest nose pin”.
