The film that reunites Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar under the production of R Balki has finally been officially announced. Akshay took to his Twitter account today to share the final cast of the film and quash any speculations about the film. The film is titled Mission Mangal and is based on the story of India’s Mars Mission. The film has been announced today as it is the anniversary of the launch. On November 5, 2013, the mission was launched.
Mission Mars stars Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon, Sonakshi Sinha besides Vidya and Akshay. The film will be helmed by Balki’s assistant director Jagan Shakti who is making his directorial debut with the film. Vidya plays the leader of the team of the female scientists who made the mission possible.
A source close to the film informed us, “It’s an extensively documented film and will be made on a grand scale. Jagan Shakti who is helming it has been working on this project for over a year and has written a solid script which is surely going to make audiences gaga over it.” The film is supposed to go on floors by the end of this month. Akshay is also co-producing the film along with R Balki’s Hope Productions, Fox Star Hindi and Viacom 18 Movies.
