I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull: Rana Daggubati on replacing Nana Patekar

Rana Daggubati is on a roll as he has been finalized to step into the shoes of Nana Patekar who was previously a part of Housefull 4. In the light of the #MeToo allegations that marred the shooting of the film, Nana stepped out of the film after allegations of sexual harassment were levied against him by Tanushree Dutta.

Rana gave his nod to the Sajid Nadiadwala film Housefull 4 after he received a narration last week. Talking about his role and the film, Rana told a leading daily, “It is always good to find work outside of Hyderabad, get to learn so much and do so many new things. I’ve never been part of a genre like Housefull and it’s always exciting to work with different genres. Working with Akshay Kumar again (after Neeraj Pandey’s 2015 action-spy thriller Baby), Sajid (Nadiadwala) and Farhad (Samji) is something I am really looking forward to.”

Housefull 4 had another change as director Sajid Khan was asked to step down since he also has been accused of sexual harassment by several women. Now, the film is being directed by Farhad Samji. Housefull 4 features Akshay, Riteish Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, Kriti Sanon, Kriti Kharbanda and Pooja Hegde as leads.
