We don’t pretend to be a happy family, says Arjun Kapoor on his bond with sisters Janhvi, Khushi

It hasn’t been very long since Arjun Kapoor started making public appearances with his half-sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor and speaking about his relationship with them to the press during interviews and meets. But he has been pretty much honest about his bond with Janhvi and Khushi throughout, and reiterated during an interview with a leading daily that he isn’t bothered by opinions about his bond with them and just wants his sisters to be fine. Arjun and Anshula are Boney Kapoor’s children from his former wife Mona Shourie; Janhvi and Khushi are the filmmaker’s daughters from his second wife Sridevi.

Asked whether ‘mean things’ said about his bond with Janhvi ‘irks’ him, Arjun told the daily that he hasn’t ever pretended to be a part of a happy family or admitted that he has resolved everything. So, he doesn’t really care about all that has been said or is being written for that matter.

“Why would it irk me? It’s something that has been growing and still evolving. I’ve been very honest about it. I’ve not made any pretence saying that we’re a happy family and we’ve sorted everything. So, I don’t care what people think; I just want them [my sisters] to be okay. It’s my job to be a good son to my father and the byproduct of that is I’ve managed to find two more sisters; they allow me to call them my sisters and that’s very large-hearted on their part,” Arjun told the daily.

Pictures of Janhvi and Arjun surface quite often as they pose together for pictures, visit each other and also write in aid of their respective films on social media. In fact, Janhvi and Arjun appeared together on Karan Johar’s celebrity chat show Koffee With Karan 6 while the episode will air soon.

Speaking about it, Arjun said, “There’s no knowing when we will actually know each other very well. This talk show gives me time to spend with her, an opportunity to know her as much as you guys will get to know her, ironically. That’s because I’ve not spent too much time with them beyond whatever little I could. But they are very nice kids.”

Janhvi made her debut in Bollywood with Dhadak and stars next in KJo’s Takht. Arjun, last seen in Namaste England, will feature next in Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and India's Most Wanted.
