Kajol is one actress who never minces her words and does not shy away from calling a spade a spade. She is effervescent and bubbly and is generally a hoot when it comes to interviews and media interactions. She recently featured in the podcast series of Neha Dhupia titled No Filter Neha and opened up about a lot of interesting details from her life, one of them being her marriage to actor Ajay Devgn.
Kajol explained how nobody wanted the two to get married, not even her father. She said, “Nobody wanted us to get married besides his family and my family. My family also was iffy. My dad didn’t talk to me for a week when I told him I wanted to get married. It was because I wanted to get married. He was just like why do you want to get married, you’re so young and your career is doing so well and I was like but I want to get married. Ajay and I were very different people, so lots of people had reservations as to what we would be like as a couple and we were not very social even then. Not a lot of people had met us together or knew what we were like together.”

Kajol and Ajay married at a time when both were quite young and doing well in their careers. At that point in time actresses usually did not get married at the peak of their careers as married actresses were not successful and they lost out on projects. However, Kajol said that she and Ajay have been married for 19 years and survived this long because they, “have worked through it together”.

She said, “We have survived because both of us have worked through it together and we have two kids. It’s almost like we have become like one person who have these two children like their arms.” Kajol and Ajay married in 1999 and have two children, Nysa and Yug together. Their marriage is one of the most stable marriages in Bollywood.
