Alia had the same haircut like Kajol; Jahnvi never saw 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' - Karan Johar reveals it all

Filmmaker Karan Johar started off in the entertainment industry as a director with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in 1998 and the film, for reasons more than one, is special to him. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji in the principal roles, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai completes two decades since its release on October 16 and Karan attributed his successful career in Bollywood to the film.

While speaking to a leading daily, Karan said that he feels like a senior (finally) with Kuch Kuch Hota Hai turning 20 and reminisced his journey of filming it. "Whatever I am today is because of that film. I complete 20 years in the industry, and I feel like a senior today. I remember every moment spent on that film,” Karan told the daily.

Moreover, Karan also said that Alia Bhatt was inspired by Kajol’s haircut in the film and sported a similar style at the age of six. Also, Karan made Janhvi Kapoor, who made her debut with Dhadak – produced by his Dharma Productions – watch Kuch Kuch Hota Hai after she said that she hadn’t seen it.

“I remember Alia (Bhatt) telling me that she was six when the film released and she had the same haircut like Kajol. When Janhvi (Kapoor) recently told me she hasn't seen the film, I made her watch it,” Karan added.
