He is a potential rapist: Filmmaker Nishtha Jain accuses Vinod Dua of sexual harassment

Filmmaker Nishtha Jain, best known her documentary Gulabi Gang, has accused eminent journalist Vinod Dua of behaving inappropriately with her in a lengthy post on Facebook in the wake of the #MeToo movement. In her post, Nishtha alleged that Dua made salacious remarks and verbally misbehaved with her during her interview with him for a job in 1989.

After Nishtha began working for another company, she added that Dua stalked her as well as she narrated her harrowing experience in her post. “One night as I came down to the parking, he was there. He said, he wanted to talk to me and asked me to enter his car - a black SUV/Jeep, I don't remember the make as I'm not into automobiles. Assuming that he wanted to apologise for his behaviour, I entered the car but before I could even settle down he began slobbering all over my face. I managed to get out and get into my office car and leave,” she wrote.

Following Nishtha's accusations against Vinod, his daughter Mallika Dua issued a statement as well, pointing out that it was not her battle to fight and she would "stand by" her father. However, she mentioned that if her father is indeed guilty ad described by Nishtha, "it is unacceptable, traumatic and painful," further adding that bringing her name in the fiasco was in "bad taste."
