Sona Mohapatra accuses Kailash Kher of making advances at her, recounts her horror

In wake of the recent #MeToo movement in India, singer-composer Kailash Kher was recently accused by a female photojournalist for sexually harassing her. Moreover, another woman alleged that he invited her repeatedly to his hotel room in Kolkata. Although Kailash denied the allegations completely by asserting that he respects women, singer Sona Mohapatra has lashed out at him for harassing women and even recounted her own horror when she faced sexual misconduct at his hands.

Opening up in a series of tweets on Tuesday night, Sona lashed out at Kailash for calling himself 'simple' and 'devoted to music'. She also vouched that the stories of the women, who have accused him of harassment, were perhaps true since she faced it herself.

Taking a note from Kailash's apology to the two women, Sona wrote, "How many women will you apologise to Kailash Kher???"

She further recounted her own Me Too story when she met Kailash at a popular cafe and he tried to make advances at her by keeping a hand on her thighs. Sona also revealed how he kept calling her incessantly to join her in his hotel in Dhaka, where they had travelled for a concert.

Meanwhile, after Tanushree Dutta ignited the Me Too movement in India by accusing veteran actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment, it has emboldened women from different walks of life to come forth and share their stories. From Vikas Bahl and Alok Nath to Rajat Kapoor and now Kailash again, several men from the industry have lately been accused of sexual misconduct.
