Phantom films which has created a reputed name for itself in the past seven years in the industry has now been dissolved. The film company which was run by ace filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena is dismissed due to a collective decision of all the four directors. Anurag, Vikramaditya, Vikas and Madhu now want to explore several individual creative opportunities for themselves and do not wish to be a part of the film company. The four will be now working independently and taking up projects.
Phantom films was founded in 2011 and it has survived in the industry with many ups and downs but it is now that the journey has come to an end. The partners have decided to focus on their creative contributions independently and collaborate on a frequent basis for many films in the future.
As reported in a leading daily, Vikramaditya Motwane in a statement said, “Vikas, Madhu, Anurag and I have decided to dissolve our partnership in Phantom and go our separate ways. It’s been the craziest, greatest journey and the most wonderful partnership of my life. My three partners have been my family through thick and thin and I can't thank them enough for their love and support for the past seven years. I wish them nothing but the best for their individual journeys from here on and hope our paths will cross again better times.”
Anurag and Vikramaditya shared the news on their Twitter account. The partners also released the news through a statement, to ensure that they separate their professional association on healthy terms.

Over the last seven years, Phantom films has produced many interesting films like Queen, Masaan, Lootera, Udta Punjab and others. It has also produced two of the most popular Netflix series Sacred Games, and Ghoul. Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer Sacred Games which received a great response was directed by Anurag and Vikramaditya together.
Anurag’s last film Manmarziyaan has received immense appreciation and box office success. Vikas is currently working on an upcoming film Super 30 starring Hrithik Roshan.
