Nana Patekar refutes Tanushree Dutta’s claims, says he will take legal action if needed

Veteran actor Nana Patekar who has been accused of sexual harassment by actress Tanushree Dutta has denied all such claims. In his first response to the allegations, Nana refuted the claims and told a news channel that he is considering legal action against the actress and claimed that he has support from the film unit present at the time.

Nana told the channel in an interview, “What do you mean sexual harassment? There were 50-100 people on the set with me. Will see what I can do legally. It's a waste talking (to media), you guys will play up anything.” Nana has been accused not only accused of sexual harassment but intimation as well on the sets of 2008 film Horn 'Ok' Pleassss. Tanushree also accused him of using political connections to threaten and intimate her and her parents on the sets of the film.

Nana who has been applauded for his relief work with impoverished and drought-affected farmers in Maharashtra has been accused by Tanushree that all his social work is a façade. He said, “People can say whatever they want to say, I will keep doing my work."

Tanushree in a recent interview to an entertainment channel named Nana as her harasser on the sets of a film for which she was supposed to film a song sequence ten years ago. Tanushree ultimately quit the film and was replaced by Rakhi Sawant. Tanushree said, “He was grabbing my hands and teaching me how to dance.” She also alleged that Nana called up Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena’s party workers after her when she rejected his advances and did not fall prey to his unwanted attention.

Bollywood has refused to comment on the accusations levied against Nana. However, Ganesh Acharya came in support of Nana and said that the actor did not harass the actress. He told a news channel, “I can confirm that nothing this sort of happened. It's a wrong statement that Nana ji called members of some political party on set.” Although he did admit that there was some misunderstanding which eventually made Tanushree leave the film.

Meanwhile, actresses Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde along with Farah Khan took off for the shooting schedule of Housefull 4 with Nana ignoring the fiasco and the controversy that is brewing in India.
